Five Questions to Help You Move From “What’s Next?” to “What’s Possible”
When life starts to get a little quieter around the house, it’s natural to start to wonder, What’s next for me? But that question can also feel like you’re supposed to have an answer—a plan, a purpose, some big idea for what comes next. Instead, try asking yourself a few questions that leave a little more room for curiosity. You may not know exactly what’s next yet(and that's ok), but you can start exploring what’s possible.
1. What do I miss that used to make me feel like me?
Think back to interests, activities or parts of yourself that may have gotten pushed aside over the years. You don’t necessarily have to bring them back exactly as they were. Just notice what you miss—and what that might be telling you.

2. What am I curious about right now?
Forget about whether it’s practical, productive or something you’ll still care about a year from now. What catches your attention? What would you like to learn, try, see or experience simply because it sounds interesting?
3. If I had an entire day with no one needing anything from me, how would I spend it?
Would you head somewhere new? Stay somewhere quiet with a book? Take your camera out for the day? Wander through shops and cafés? Make something? Do absolutely nothing for a while? Pay attention to where your mind goes first.
4. When your kids were little, was there something you wanted to do but put off?
Maybe there was a trip you wanted to take, a class you wanted to try, a hobby you wanted to pursue or something completely different. Life may look different now. How would it feel if you gave that old idea another look?
5. What is one possibility I could explore without having to know where it will lead?
You don’t need to figure out your entire next chapter. Choose one thing that interests you and take one small step toward it. Sometimes what’s possible starts simply by giving yourself permission to explore.
Is it Time to Get Curious?
Moving from What’s next? to What’s possible? isn’t about coming up with a perfect plan for the rest of your life. It’s about getting curious again, paying attention to what lights you up and creating a little space to see where it might lead.
